Nghe An mobilizes 150 billion VND for "Fund for the poor"

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 27, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Committee visited and worked in Nghe An.

Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade Nguyen Van Huy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and officers and staff of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee reported on some results of the Fatherland Front at all levels mobilizing people to participate in rural development from 2011 to 2015. Nghe An is the province that completed the investigation and synthesis of data on the current status of rural areas early in the country (2010).

From 2011 to 2015, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee promptly developed programs and plans, and guided the Fatherland Fronts of districts, cities, and towns to thoroughly and promptly implement the Resolution on promoting the implementation of the New Rural Development Program.

To date, the province has completed the planning and approval of new rural construction for 431/431 communes. After 5 years, the total mobilized capital is 20,912.7 billion VND, building and upgrading 3,884 km of roads of all kinds with a total cost of 6,285.22 billion VND.

In the whole province, Thai Hoa Town achieved 19/19 criteria for new rural districts, 108 communes (25%) achieved 19/19 criteria, 52 communes (12.86%) achieved 15-18 criteria, 118 communes (27.3%) achieved 10-15 criteria, 126 communes (29.3%) achieved 5-9 criteria, 30 communes (7%) achieved less than 5 criteria.

Comrade Nguyen Ho Lam - Deputy Chief of Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for the National Target Program on New Rural Areas reported on the results of mobilizing people to build new rural areas in the period 2011-2015.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations also actively promote the mobilization of people to develop the economy, increase income for rural people, unite to build a cultural life, care for education, develop human resources, build cultural families, promote the tradition of "remembering the source of drinking water", "repaying gratitude", "mutual love", unite to participate in environmental protection, respond to climate change, propagate people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and build a strong political foundation.

Over the past 5 years, the "Fund for the Poor" at 3 levels in the whole province has mobilized 150 billion VND, supporting the repair and renovation of over 5,000 houses for poor households. The Tet for the Poor program mobilizes about 30 billion VND each year to contribute to taking care of Tet for nearly 80,000 poor households.

Comrade Nguyen Van Huy - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that it is necessary to build criteria for new rural residential areas suitable to the practical life of the people.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also made recommendations and proposals to promote the effectiveness and build the sustainability of the work of mobilizing the entire population to unite to build a cultural life in residential areas associated with the movement of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
