Nghe An mobilized more than 22 billion VND for the poor
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 8, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to summarize the campaign to support the "Fund for the Poor" and relief work in 2016.

In 2016, the whole province supported more than 22 billion VND for the “Fund for the Poor”, reaching 122% of the plan, of which the district level received more than 20.6 billion VND, the provincial level more than 1.5 billion VND. From the fund, we focused on building 572 new Great Solidarity houses, repairing 260 houses, supporting 881 poor people with medical examination and treatment, supporting more than 4,700 poor students to study, supporting production for 674 poor households...
Regarding relief work, the province received more than 33.9 billion VND from organizations and individuals to support people affected by floods in September and October 2016; 500 million VND to directly support fishermen affected by marine environmental incidents.

In 2017, the "Fund for the Poor" Campaign Committee continued to innovate the method of mobilizing support for the "Fund for the Poor", developing a plan to use the fund at each specific level, suitable to the actual situation in each locality to provide timely assistance to the poor and poor households; Building support models, helping poor households to escape poverty sustainably from the "Fund for the Poor" at all levels, suitable, specific, practical, effective for each poor household; Coordinating with relevant sectors to advise the Provincial People's Committee to launch the program "Tet for the Poor Dinh Dau 2017" to help people enjoy Tet and welcome spring./.
