(Baonghean.vn) - In the first quarter of 2023, the growth rate of total product in Nghe An province (GRDP) is estimated at 7.75% over the same period; ranking 14th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The above data has just been announced by the General Statistics Office.

In the first 3 months of the year, the Provincial People's Committee assigned capital plans to sectors and localities and resolutely directed the acceleration of construction progress and disbursement of public investment capital from the beginning of 2023. As of March 20, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province had disbursed more than 282 billion VND, reaching 5.06%.

The index of industrial production (IIP) in the first three months of the year is estimated to increase by 5.81% over the same period. Of which, the mining industry is estimated to increase by 25.74%; the processing and manufacturing industry is estimated to increase by 8.86%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning is estimated to increase by 21.67%; the processing and manufacturing industry is estimated to increase by 3.45%; water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities are estimated to decrease by 1.25% over the same period.

Some key industrial products in the first quarter are estimated to have increased significantly compared to the same period last year, such as: Beer of all kinds 33.92 million liters, up 11.21%, cement 2.7 million tons, up 12.42%, processed milk 85.7 million liters, up 6.32%, electricity production 897 million kWh, up 30.76%, Hoa Sen corrugated iron of all kinds 369 thousand tons, up 7.79%...

Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first quarter is estimated at VND 2,657 billion, up 28.57% over the same period in 2022. Total export turnover of goods in the first 3 months is estimated at 520 million USD, import turnover is estimated at more than 274 million USD.

The number of tourists is estimated at 1.9 million, equal to 181% over the same period; revenue is estimated at 1,460 billion VND, equal to 306.7% over the same period in 2022.

Budget revenue in the first quarter is estimated at VND4,467 billion, reaching 28.2% of the estimate; of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND4,258 billion; revenue from import-export activities is estimated at VND209 billion.

In particular, Nghe An continues to achieve many results in attracting investment. The province has granted 30 new projects with a total registered investment capital of over VND4,937 billion. The total newly granted and adjusted capital is over VND5,435 billion.

Recently, the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment announced data showing that in the first quarter of 2023, Nghe An attracted 2 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered capital of 164.95 million USD, ranking 10th nationwide, leading 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Up to now, Nghe An province has 132 valid FDI projects, with a total registered investment capital of more than 2.737 billion USD.

In 2023, Nghe An sets a growth target of 9-10%. The Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 162/QD-UBND dated January 18, 2023 on key tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and state budget estimates for 2023, including 6 key contents for direction and administration, 12 groups of key tasks and solutions and 160 specific tasks assigned to departments and branches.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee has developed growth scenarios for 2023 for each quarter and the whole year; established 5 Working Groups to direct and promote sectors and fields; assigned 2023 plan targets to sectors and levels right from the beginning of the year for implementation.

According to the General Statistics Office, the gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2023 is estimated to increase by 3.32% over the same period last year, just higher than the growth rate of 3.21% in the first quarter of 2020 in the period 2011-2023. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 2.52%, contributing 8.85% to the overall growth; the industry and construction sector decreased by 0.4%, decreasing by 4.76%; the service sector increased by 6.79%, contributing 95.91%.

Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year increased in 58 localities and decreased in 5 localities nationwide. In particular, some localities had a high GRDP growth rate compared to the GDP growth rate such as: Hau Giang increased by 12.67%; Binh Thuan increased by 9.86%; Hai Phong increased by 9.65%; Khanh Hoa increased by 9.07%; Ca Mau increased by 9.05%; Ninh Binh increased by 8.45%; Tuyen Quang increased by 8.42%; Bac Giang increased by 8.40%.

On the contrary, some localities in key economic regions had low GRDP growth rates and decreased compared to the same period last year, mainly due to low growth or decrease in the processing and manufacturing industry: Binh Duong increased by 1.15%; Ho Chi Minh City increased by 0.7%; Quang Ngai decreased by 1.07%; Vinh Phuc decreased by 2.47%; Ba Ria - Vung Tau decreased by 4.75%; Quang Nam decreased by 10.88%; Bac Ninh decreased by 11.85%.
