The main reasons for students dropping out of school are poor academic performance, dropping out to work or dropping out to get married (in mountainous districts).
At the end of the 2016-2017 school year, the whole province had 5,776 grade 9 students who did not take the entrance exam/apply for grade 10 (accounting for 14.74%). Particularly for high school level, nearly 11,000 students did not take the entrance exam and apply for university and college (accounting for 38.21%). |
