Nghe An to build 28 key irrigation projects in the next 4 years
(Baonghean.vn) - In order to restructure the agricultural sector in the province, in the period from 2017 - 2020, Nghe An will build 28 key irrigation infrastructure projects.

The goal from now to 2020 is that in addition to completing 23 irrigation, drainage, flood control dyke projects and hydropower projects under construction, Nghe An will continue to build 28 new key irrigation infrastructure projects in the 2017-2020 period.
Some key irrigation projects include: Upgrading Lam Tra canal (Nam Dan - Hung Nguyen); Nam Viec irrigation system (Que Phong); project to upgrade Nha Le canal... Total investment capital for 28 works and projects is 16,600 billion VND.
Of the 28 key irrigation projects, 12 projects are continuing, with a capital shortage of VND 9,919 billion; 12 new projects are starting construction, with a total investment demand in the period of VND 5,584 billion; 4 projects are preparing for investment, with a total investment demand in the period of VND 1,097 billion.

After completing these key irrigation projects, Nghe An will ensureIrrigation for 84,000 hectares of rice, 18,000 hectares of crops, 17,000 hectares of industrial crops, fruit trees and grass for dairy cows;10,000 hectares of aquaculture. At the same time, ensure cProvide water for industrial parks in Bac Vinh, Nam Cam, Hoang Mai, Dong Hoi and other industrial parks with a supply level of 50-100 m3/day/ha of construction;Ensure clean water supply for 100% of urban and rural residents.
Solving waterlogging for 12,000 hectares of crops in Quynh Luu, Dien Chau and Nghi Loc areas; enhancing waterlogging capacity, increasing frequency to ensure drainage for 50,000 hectares of rice areas in Dien - Yen - Quynh, Nam - Hung - Nghi; solving water drainage for Vinh City and surrounding areas.
Increase the flood prevention frequency of the level III dyke of Ta Lam from the current 1.5% to 1% to protect the key political, cultural and economic center of the province. Upgrade the closed level IV dyke system of Lam left and right into level III dykes, ensuring flood prevention frequency of 2%, the internal dykes ensure flood prevention frequency of 10% in the summer and autumn. Complete the sea dyke system, river mouth dykes to ensure flood prevention frequency of 5%, storm winds of level 9, level 10.
