Nghe An ranked third in the National Youth Taekwondo Championship
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 12, the National Youth Taekwondo Championship held in Quang Ninh closed. The Nghe An delegation won 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 7 bronze medals, ranking 3rd out of 42 participating delegations.

The National Youth Taekwondo Championship took place from July 7-13 in Quang Ninh with the participation of nearly 1,000 athletes from 42 delegations from provinces and cities across the country. Participating in the tournament, Nghe An delegation had 35 athletes aged 12-20 competing for medals in 22 events.
After 1 week of competition, Nghe An team ranked 3rd out of 42 teams with 3 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals and 7 Bronze Medals, behind Ho Chi Minh City team and Binh Duong team.
The three athletes who won Gold Medals from Nghe An delegation include: Dang Khanh Nhi (born 2003) in the under 55kg weight category; Nguyen Thi Lam Oanh (born 2003) in the over 55kg weight category; Lan Thi Van Anh (born 2006) in the 26kg weight category.

Previously, in June 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, athlete Dang Khanh Nhi of Nghe An team also won a silver medal at the 2017 Asian Junior Championship. "After this tournament, Khanh Nhi and Lam Oanh of Nghe An team were approved by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training to participate in the 2017 World Junior Championship (Cadet) in Egypt this August" - Mr. Dang Dinh Hung, Head of Nghe An Taekwondo Department said./.
