Nghe An handles over 2 thousand traffic violations during the April 30 - May 1 holiday

According to the report of the Traffic Police Department (Nghe An Police), during the 5-day holiday of April 30 - May 1, the Traffic Police force organized 574 patrols and controls with 2,199 officers participating, recording 2,022 administrative violations.

Of which, 637 were car drivers (141 were passenger cars, 197 were trucks, 19 were containers, 272 were cars, and 8 were taxis); 1,237 were motorcyclists; 148 were other vehicles. 16 were cars, 810 were motorbikes, and 16 were other vehicles were detained.

722 cases of violations have complied with the penalty decision, transferring over 1 billion VND to the State budget; 304 cases had their driving licenses and practice certificates revoked for a period of time.

Main violations: People sitting on motorbikes and scooters when participating in traffic do not wear helmets in 446 cases; do not have a driving license in 422 cases; do not have a registration certificate in 440 cases; people driving vehicles with drugs in their body in 17 cases; stop or park in the wrong place in 30 cases; drive in the wrong part of the road or lane in 203 cases...

Notably, the results of the implementation of the topics achieved high results, such as: 497 cases of alcohol concentration violations (an increase of 131 cases compared to the same period); 436 cases of speeding (an increase of 143 cases compared to the same period); 124 cases of overloaded, oversized, and extended cargo vehicles (an increase of 63 cases compared to the same period).

During the 5-day holiday, the traffic volume of people and vehicles in Nghe An province increased. However, the Traffic Police mobilized maximum forces and vehicles to proactively develop plans from the beginning, so the traffic order and safety situation was maintained stably, ensuring smooth traffic flow, compared to the same period last year, traffic accidents decreased in all 3 criteria.
