(Baonghean.vn) - The interdisciplinary inspection team chaired by the Department of Fisheries coordinated with the People's Committees of coastal districts and Dien Thanh Border Guard Station to organize coastal inspections.
Specifically, during the inspection at the end of July, the delegation approached and inspected 62 vehicles, detected, recorded administrative violations and issued decisions to sanction 03 vehicles.fishing vessel violationswhen fishing. In which, a fishing boat with registration number QNa - 92675- TS owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, a fisherman in Quang Nam province, was fined 3 million VND for not flying the national flag.

Next, the delegation fined fishing boat NA-2185-TS of Mr. Phan Van Son and fishing boat NA-3712-TS of Mr. Phan Ngoc Sam, both in Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau), each 2.5 million VND for the act.illegal dumping of fishing gearinto natural waters.
Previously, during the inspection trip in the first half of July, the delegation approached 67 boats to propagate, reminded 6 vehicles and made records and advised the Branch Director to fine 4 cases of fishing boats violating with a total amount of 24 million VND; at the same time, confiscated 1 electric generator, 35 meters of electric wire.

Violations by vessel owners include not fully recording fishing logs for fishing vessels under 24 m in length, not recording crew members' names in the Fishing Register; for small vessels, storing electric shock devices on board, and illegally dumping fishing gear into natural waters.
Mr. Tran Chau Thanh - Head of the Inspection and Legal Department and Head of the inspection team said: in total in July, the team fined 7 fishing vessels for violations with a total amount of 32 million VND. In the coming time, along with the planned inspection of the province, the team will focus on reminding and propagating to fishing vessel owners to comply with the State's regulations on entering and exiting ports, estuaries, regulations on protecting and developing aquatic resources, maintaining connection to monitor the journey on board when fishing, eliminating illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing activities IUU.

At the end of June, the European Commission worked with the Vietnamese Government onremove Yellow Cardfor fishing activities. Accordingly, the time to remove the Yellow Card in other countries is usually after 4 years. However, due to many shortcomings in Vietnam's fishing activities, it has not been removed yet. Therefore, the Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development are directing strongly, strengthening inspections to remind, correct violations, and severely punishing acts of disconnecting journey monitoring devices and violating fishing areas.
