Nghe An exports of electronic equipment and components increase 'exponentially'
From the beginning of 2024 until now, Nghe An's export of electronic equipment and components has increased by 84.4%.
Information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said: The province's export turnover this year is estimated at 3.207 billion USD, an increase of 31.2% compared to 2023, exceeding the plan by 16.6%. This is the first year that Nghe An's export turnover has exceeded the 3 billion USD mark.
Some items have double-digit growth in export turnover, typically: Electronic equipment and components increased by 84.4%; electric wires and cables increased by 74.5%; footwear of all kinds increased by 88.1%; rice increased by 75%, textiles and garments increased by 30.1%; steel and iron of all kinds increased by 29.2%.
Nghe An enterprises have exported goods to over 142 countries and territories. Export turnover to some markets increased sharply compared to the same period such as: Singapore increased by 111.5%, Hong Kong increased by 87.5%; Taiwan increased by 68.4%; Japan increased by 28.8%, Korea increased by 16.7%, Germany increased by 47.7%,...
The high increase in goods export turnover has significantly contributed to bringing Nghe An's total export turnover this year to about 3.7 billion USD, exceeding the target set by the Provincial People's Council for the whole year of 3 billion USD.
Previously, in 2023, Nghe An's total export turnover exceeded 3 billion USD for the first time, reaching 3.105 billion USD; of which goods export reached 2.444 billion USD.
In 2025, the Provincial People's Committee submitted to the Provincial People's Council the target of total export turnover reaching 4.5 billion USD; of which goods export is 4 billion USD.
2024 is the fourth consecutive year that Nghe An has exceeded its export target. Investment projects gradually coming into operation have strongly promoted the province's export turnover, especially in the field of manufacturing electronic equipment and components.
It is forecasted that in 2025, the export of electronic equipment and components of Nghe An will continue to increase when a series of projects will come into operation.
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has recently requested relevant agencies to focus on supporting to speed up the progress, soon put registered investment projects, especially FDI projects in economic zones and industrial parks into operation in 2025 such as: Sunny Automotive Optical Vina new facility investment project; Xinfeng Technology Vietnam factory; Gaojia Optics Technology Vietnam factory; All Top Industrial electronic components manufacturing, Luxshare - ICT 2 project; Luxvisions Innovation Nghe An factory, TopGoal Vietnam electronics manufacturing.
The production of electronic equipment and components is a rapidly growing industry in Nghe An's export basket recently, when a series of FDI projects of 5 technology giants including Foxconn, Luxshare, Goertek, Everwin and JuTeng chose the North Central province as their "nest", gradually turning this place into the new "capital" of electronic component production in Vietnam.
In 2022 and 2023, Nghe An attracted a total of nearly 2.5 billion USD in FDI capital, of which more than 1.6 billion USD was reached in 2023 alone.
In 2024 (as of November 25), Nghe An's total investment capital has reached VND 44,789 billion; of which, foreign direct investment (FDI) alone reached 977.83 million USD, and it is expected to attract 1.696 billion USD of FDI capital for the whole year.
Up to now, the whole province has 147 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of 5.1 billion USD.
On the other hand, Nghe An’s import turnover this year is estimated at 2.226 billion USD, up 56.22% over the same period; exceeding the plan by 48.4%. Thus, Nghe An is having a surplus in goods exports of nearly 1 billion USD.
