Nghe An requests to reduce traffic accidents on routes 538B and N5
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee assessed that the traffic accident situation on these routes is very complicated, many serious accidents have occurred, causing great damage to people's lives and property.
On November 14, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 697/KH-UBND on ensuring traffic safety on routes N5 and Provincial Road 538B.

In order to reduce traffic accidents in all three criteria on these routes, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Police to continue to maintain the operation of special task forces to patrol and control traffic on Route N5 and Provincial Road 539B.
"These working groups must close the area, ensuring 24/7 operation. To handle acts of speeding, exceeding alcohol concentration, and overloading, the Provincial Police will equip Nghi Loc District Police and Do Luong District Police with professional technical equipment and means such as cameras, alcohol speed cameras, and portable weight-checking scales," the document stated, and strictly prohibits any illegal interference or obstruction during the performance of duties by the functional forces.
In addition, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Transport to sign a commitment with freight transport units that regularly operate on these routes not to carry overloaded or oversized cargo. Research and pilot the installation of automatic load checking scales on Provincial Road 538B, and install warning signs before March 30, 2019.

The authorities reviewed and promptly supplemented the system of traffic safety items and works on Provincial Road 538B, Road N5 and some branch roads and residential roads at intersections with main roads.
The province also requested Do Luong and Nghi Loc districts to maintain the results of clearing traffic safety violations and prevent re-encroachment. Do Luong district was requested to urgently clear 13 cases of traffic safety violations in the communes of Hoa Son, Thinh Son, Hien Son, Tru Son and Dai Son before December 15, 2018.
Sectors and localities must strengthen the management of land use in road traffic safety corridors according to the provisions of law; promptly handle cases of encroachment, occupation, and illegal use of road and traffic safety corridor land.
