(Baonghean.vn) - After a storm, a large number of fallen trees are often left behind and need to be cut down and cleared quickly. Therefore, the chainsaw business is in high demand in many localities.

Mr. Dinh Huu Hai, from Hamlet 15, Nghi Trung Commune (Nghi Loc District), has been working as a chainsaw operator for many years. With his experience, he knows that many trees usually fall after a storm. "After Typhoon No. 2 ended, early in the morning people were already calling me to cut down fallen trees on the road. Before I finished for one house, someone else called to help with the clearing. Trees were scattered everywhere on the roads, and to clear them, we had to cut them down neatly, so we worked at full capacity," Mr. Hai said.

In Nghi Loc, on average, each commune has 4 or 5 people who own gasoline-powered chainsaws to work as laborers. After a storm, the intensity of work for chainsaw operators is usually double or triple that of normal days to meet customer demand. Nowadays, almost every household hires chainsaw services when they need to cut down trees.

According to locals, felling trees with a chainsaw is both fast and convenient. A mature tree, tens of meters tall, can be cut into neat, short sections in just ten minutes using a chainsaw.

Mr. Tran Ba Da, residing in Hamlet 8, Nghi Thinh Commune, stated: "After Typhoon No. 2, more than 40 casuarina and eucalyptus trees in my house were felled. Many trees blocked the road, and some even fell on my house. I hired chainsaw operators to cut them down, and it took more than a day. If I had to do it manually by hand, it would have easily taken half a month to clear them."

Depending on the worker, the cost of sawing and cutting trees varies; cutting trees and cutting them into short pieces for firewood costs an average of 40,000 - 100,000 VND, while cutting large trees costs around 200,000 VND.

Mr. Le Van Quan, a lumberjack in Hamlet 10, Nghi Thinh Commune, said: "We should share the burden with the people who suffered damage from the storm; normally, the fee for sawing a tree is 50,000 VND per tree, but for clearing fallen trees caused by the storm, we only charge less."

Following Typhoon No. 2, Nghi Loc district had over 17,000 old trees felled and needing to be cleared. No one wants this number to happen, but when such incidents occur, it creates job opportunities and increases income for those who provide tree-cutting services.

Thanks to this team, traffic congestion was quickly cleared, and damage to the power grid and houses caused by fallen trees was rapidly repaired, ensuring the stability of people's lives and maintaining the operation of offices and schools after the storm.

Not only in Nghi Loc, but also in Vinh, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, etc., fallen trees are scattered everywhere, and chainsaw operators are working non-stop to quickly clean up the streets and stabilize life and production after the storm.
