Chainsaw profession has more income after the storm
(Baonghean.vn) - After a storm, there is often a large amount of fallen trees that need to be quickly cut down and cleared. Therefore, chainsawing in many localities attracts customers.
Mr. Dinh Huu Hai in Hamlet 15, Nghi Trung Commune (Nghi Loc) has been working as a chainsaw driver for many years. With his experience, he knows that after a storm, there will usually be many fallen trees. "After Storm No. 2 ended, early in the morning, someone called me to cut down fallen trees on the road. Before this house was finished, someone else called to help cut and clear it. There were fallen trees all over the roads, and to clean them up, we had to saw them down neatly, so we worked at full capacity," said Mr. Hai.
In Nghi Loc, on average, each commune has 4-5 people buying chainsaws to do their job. After the storm, the sawmill workers often have to work twice or three times as much as usual to meet the needs of customers. Now, almost every household that needs to cut down a tree hires a chainsaw service.

According to the locals, cutting trees with a machine is both fast and convenient. A ten-meter-tall perennial tree can be cut into neat short pieces using a chainsaw in just ten minutes.
Mr. Tran Ba Da in hamlet 8, Nghi Thinh commune said: "After storm No. 2, my house had more than 40 casuarina and eucalyptus trees that fell. Many trees blocked the road, some even fell on the house. I hired a chainsaw to cut them down and it took me more than a day to finish. If I sawed them manually by hand, it would have taken half a month to finish."
Depending on the worker, the cost of sawing and cutting trees is different; cutting trees and cutting them into short pieces for firewood costs an average of 40,000 - 100,000 VND, and large trees cost about 200,000 VND.
