Brocade weaving of Thai people in Nghe An is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has just signed Decision No. 1657/QD-BVHTTDL dated June 3, 2025, on announcing the List of national intangible cultural heritage.

According to this decision, the brocade weaving craft of the Thai people in Nghe An province has been officially included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, under the category of "Traditional Crafts".
Decisionstate clearly: The Chairman of the People's Committee at all levels where intangible cultural heritage is included in the List, within the scope of his/her duties and powers, is responsible for performing State management in accordance with the provisions of law on cultural heritage.
The Chief of the Ministry Office, Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province, and heads of relevant agencies, units and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision. The Decision takes effect from the date of signing.
The recognition of the brocade weaving craft of the Thai people in Nghe An as a national intangible cultural heritage not only recognizes the unique traditional cultural values of the Thai ethnic community, but also creates conditions for preserving and promoting the craft associated with tourism development and local socio-economic development in the new period.
