Working with the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Nghe An province on the afternoon of August 23, comrade Do Van Chien - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Minorities Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the implementation of assigned political tasks of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Nghe An province.

Sharing the specific difficulties of cadres working in ethnic affairs, the Minister emphasized that ethnic affairs have an extremely important position, especially for provinces with many ethnic minority communities such as Nghe An.

Ethnic work is "difficult" so to improve efficiency, according to Minister Do Van Chien, cadres doing ethnic work must improve their qualifications, expertise, and professionalism to do a good job of advising provincial leaders.

"Cadres working in ethnic affairs must "hear the hearts and speak the voices of the people" to inspire ethnic people, especially the younger generation of ethnic people, to strive to overcome hunger and reduce poverty" - the Minister shared; at the same time, he emphasized: in addition to the policies of the Party and State, the most important factor is that the people must strive to improve themselves.

Previously, reporting on the organizational structure, staffing and implementation of the task of building the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Nghe An province, Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of the province Luong Thanh Hai affirmed: In recent years, the staff of civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ethnic Minorities Committee has developed in quantity and quality. Currently, the agency has 37 civil servants and public employees.

The Provincial Ethnic Committee has monitored, synthesized and advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee to effectively implement ethnic policies in the province such as: Program 135; Direct support policy for poor ethnic households according to Decision 102/QD-TTg; Policy on conservation and sustainable development of the Dan Lai ethnic minority currently living in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park; Policy on reducing child marriage and incestuous marriage among ethnic minorities in the period 2015 - 2025;...

Since 2015, the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Nghe An province has also directed and implemented well the ethnic policies assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, including directing and directly implementing two small-scale models: pilot planting of Cat Apple and Red Litsea. Currently, these two models are being implemented as planned.

At the meeting, the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Nghe An province requested the Minister to allow the Nghe An Ethnic Minorities Committee to participate in implementing the model directed by the Ethnic Minorities Committee such as growing medicinal plants; supporting production development; having policies to create jobs for children of ethnic minorities, etc.

Regarding the recommendation for the Provincial Ethnic Committee to participate in implementing the economic model, the Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee said that the Provincial Ethnic Committee needs to coordinate with localities to survey and evaluate in order to build a suitable model to bring about efficiency, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction for the people./.
