Artist Xuan Bac is the Goodwill Ambassador for a charity project providing free surgery for 100 children with facial deformities in Vietnam in 2016.

It is estimated that in Vietnam, one in every 700 children born has a cleft lip, cleft palate, or facial deformities. These deformities cause many difficulties in life, many of them cannot eat, breathe, are shunned by their friends, and have almost no chance of going to school.

With the desire to bring better things to the community, An Sinh Company - the leading company in learning tools, learning must be fun, fun to learn for Vietnamese children, together with the US non-governmental organization - Operation Smile and artists such as: Xuan Bac, director Tran Luc, MC Tran Quang Minh, journalist Thanh Huong, journalist Ngo Ba Luc, journalist Hoang Minh Tri, MC Thanh Trung, famous football player Hong Son, singer Ngoc Anh (Triad 3A), journalist Ha Son... launched a charity program to support the Smile from the Heart fund. This is the second consecutive year that An Sinh Company has accompanied this charity program. In 2015, although the appeal period only lasted more than 1 month, 10 children with cleft palates had the opportunity to remove congenital facial deformities.

The Organizing Committee said that there are two ways to mobilize benefactors: direct financial support or buying children's backpacks and suitcases with the "Smiling Heart" symbol to have 20,000 VND/product donated to the Smile from the Heart Fund.

As someone who works closely with children in many activities, artist Xuan Bac wishes to participate in supporting humanitarian activities and wants to help children overcome their personal complexes to be more confident and make more efforts in their lives.

"When I step outside, I see that there are still many people in this life who are struggling and hope that we will open our hearts to kindness. Children in rural, remote and isolated areas; families in difficult circumstances will not have the opportunity to remove facial deformities if benefactors do not open their hearts. With about 45 minutes of surgery and the participation of the community, these children will now be able to eat, study, play and live a life with a bright future like many of their peers," artist Xuan Bac shared.

Two children Le Quoc Thien and Gia Han have just completed cleft palate surgery.

Appearing at the 2nd year fundraising launch, Le Quoc Thien and Gia Han made the artists and relatives unable to hold back their tears when just over a year ago, their ability to eat and speak was very difficult, but this year the children sang children's songs fluently such as: "This Earth is ours", "As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory"...

According to the Organizing Committee, depending on the type of congenital malformation, patients from 6 months of age and older nationwide can register to participate in this free surgery program. After selection, all patients will receive free examination, consultation, surgery, post-operative care, re-examination, and speech therapy according to global health care standards.

It is known that in mid-June, the Organizing Committee of the Smile from the Heart program initiated a voluntary surgery with a cleft palate surgery for Hong An to help her take the university entrance exam in 2016.
