Comedian Xuan Bac becomes Ambassador for Rhino Protection

We need to stop killing rhinos for their horns before it's too late.

On September 20th, in Hanoi, the Center for Nature Education (ENV) announced the results of its visit and work trip to South Africa on the issue of transnational rhino horn trafficking.

The trip included many journalists, artists, and several Vietnamese government officials, including comedian Xuan Bac.

At the press conference, comedian Xuan Bac shared: “We have witnessed firsthand the skeletons of dead rhinos; all that remains is skin and bone – the horns have been taken by poachers. Let's not be deceived and let's not waste money on greedy smugglers. We need to stop before it's too late for the rhinos.”

Rhinos are being killed for their horns in South Africa.

The increasing demand for rhino horns is a major threat to South African rhinos. Vietnam is now considered one of the world's largest markets for rhino horn consumption, where many people still believe in the myths about the miraculous healing properties of rhino horns or consider them a status symbol.

Since January, 635 South African rhinos have been hunted for their horns, and nearly two-thirds of them have been killed right here in Kruger National Park.

To further raise awareness about rhino conservation, comedian Xuan Bac has officially become a Rhino Protection Ambassador.
