8-year-old girl's body allegedly dumped in Han River by her father
The 33-year-old father was accused of strangling his daughter in a hotel room and carrying her body to Thuan Phuoc Bridge (Da Nang).
At 4:00 a.m. today (February 25), Da Nang police arrested Bui Van Hoi (33 years old, residing in Hoa Tien commune, Hung Ha district, Thai Binh province) to investigate the case of dumping the body of his 8-year-old daughter in the Han River.
According to police verification, after the divorce in March 2018, Hoi took his child from Thai Binh province to Da Nang to live and sent him to a pagoda. In January 2019, Hoi took the child to live with him and his foreign lover. During the time living with the child, the couple often had disagreements.

Police allege that, angry when his lover returned to Vietnam, on the afternoon of February 1, Hoi strangled his child at a hotel in Son Tra district and dumped the body in the Han River (near Thuan Phuoc Bridge).
On February 24, Hoi’s ex-mother-in-law reported her niece missing to Da Nang police. Authorities are continuing to take statements from the suspect and search for the victim’s body.
