Father suspected of murdering his child and then attempting suicide
After killing his 10-month-old child, Lo Van Luan used a knife to stab himself in the stomach but was discovered by relatives and taken to the emergency room.
At around 9:30 p.m. on February 15, at the stilt house of Mr. Lo Van On (85 years old) of team 8b, Thanh Luong commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province, a murder case occurred in which a father killed his own son and then attempted suicide.
At the above mentioned time, Lo Van Luan (26 years old), residing in Hua Nguong village, Ang Cang commune, Muong Ang district, Dien Bien province (the youngest son-in-law of Mr. Lo Van On), while eating with the whole family, suddenly for some unknown reason carried 10-month-old Lo Minh Khang (Luan's biological child) into the bathroom and locked the door.

A while later, seeing something unusual, the family broke the door open and found Khang dead from deep cuts in his neck, while Lo Van Luan was motionless with his wrist arteries cut and multiple stab wounds to his stomach. The subject was immediately taken to Dien Bien Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment by his family and local authorities.
Immediately after the incident, the police investigated the scene and performed an autopsy. At present, Lo Van Luan has passed the critical stage, is conscious, and is recovering. He has been able to work with the authorities. Lo Van Luan has admitted to killing his child and committing suicide.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated by the authorities.
