The wife was found burned to death on the floor, the husband hanged himself in the pigsty of his mother-in-law's house about 30 meters away.

The incident happened on the morning of June 26, at the house of Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (44 years old) and Ms. Pham Thi Huyen (46 years old), in group 15, Long Hai hamlet, Truong Tay commune, Hoa Thanh, Tay Ninh.

At the scene, Ms. Huyen's body was burned black and lying on the floor. Household items were scattered around, and the kitchen was burned down. About 30 meters from where Ms. Huyen died, in the pigsty of Ms. Huyen's mother, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tram (93 years old), Ms. Hung's body was found hanging from a crossbeam.

According to the victim’s relatives, Mr. Hung and his wife have lived together for more than 10 years and have a 9-year-old son (in 3rd grade). The family is in difficult circumstances so the couple both work as lottery ticket sellers to make a living. Recently, the couple often quarreled and raised their voices at each other.

A resident living nearby said that a week ago, Mr. Hung bought two locks and locked the door, intending to use 2 liters of gasoline to burn down the house. He also threatened with a knife, but was subdued and the knife was taken away by the residents.

Immediately after receiving the information, the authorities of Hoa Thanh district, Tay Ninh province were present to examine the scene, conduct an autopsy and record statements of those involved.

According to some people, the cause of this incident is likely due to Mr. Hung being jealous, arguing with his wife, then using gasoline to burn his wife and then hanging himself.

Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
