Suspected brother kills brother: Tragedy of a moment of anger
(Baonghean.vn)- On the night of October 25, people in hamlet 7 hardly slept. The atmosphere of mourning and gloom covered the whole hamlet, the whole Hanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An, not just the small house in the middle of the hamlet of Mr. Cuong's family, because of the terrible news that Mr. Cuong's two children had stabbed each other to death.
Mr. Cuong's family has 3 sons, the saying "three sons are not rich" is true for his family, working hard but not getting rich. In addition to farming, he does carpentry, his children grow rubber trees and work as construction workers. Dung is the eldest, Thang is the youngest, 7 years apart, both are not married.

Mr. Cuong's house - where the murder took place |
It is known that Le Dinh Thang had just finished 9th grade and joined the army in 2012. After leaving the army, it was thought that the young man who had been trained in the military environment would return to his hometown and work hard, but unexpectedly, Thang was arrested and sentenced to 2 years in prison for drug trafficking and use.
After a good rehabilitation process, in October 2016, Thang was released from prison 4 months early, returned to his hometown, integrated into the community quite well, actively worked, and joined his brother in a construction team to build a rented house.
As for Le Dinh Dung, neighbors commented that he was a young man, responsible, always cheerful, friendly, and enthusiastic about business. Dung joined the General Youth Volunteer Corps II to plant rubber trees in the commune. Dung and Thang had hot tempers like Truong Phi. Dung loved his younger brother, and when he saw that he was still socializing with strangers after being released from prison, he often tried to stop him, sometimes even shouting and slapping him like many other families.
On the afternoon of October 25, villagers saw Dung and Thang driving to the post office to pick up leather jackets that Thang had ordered online. On their way back, the two brothers were invited to a housewarming party, and they both happily participated. After that, Thang went to pick up an acquaintance who was on his way home, while Dung went home.

At around 8pm that same day, Dung came home and asked Thang “why didn’t you pick up the phone” and told Thang not to use the phone anymore. Thang immediately took out the phone and threw it to pieces on the floor. That action, along with the words exchanged, pushed the anger to its peak, Dung took out a pipe to smoke tobacco and chased after his younger brother, while Thang ran into the kitchen and grabbed a knife and brandished it to threaten him. During the fight, Dung was stabbed in the left chest by his younger brother, leading to his death.
Locals said that since his release from prison, Thang has also been busy with business, and Mr. Cuong even planned to open a large carpentry workshop at home for his children to join. Normally, the brothers live quite affectionately, but they lost their temper. A neighbor next door to Mr. Cuong shared: “I was watching TV when I saw Thang running over and saying, “Take your son to the infirmary immediately, he stabbed Dung.” As soon as I got to his house, I heard Mr. Cuong say, “So Thang stabbed Dung to death.”
After Dung's death, Mr. Cuong was so stunned that he could not believe that his own children could kill each other. At the commune police station, Thang sat with his face down, full of regret, wishing he could control his anger, wishing he had not picked up the knife... The people of Hamlet 7 could not help but be shocked and regretful for the past incident. If only Dung and his brothers had known how to give in, advise each other, not use force, if only the quarrel between Dung and Thang had been stopped in time... then the incident would not have turned out so badly.
