Nghi An celebrates 70th anniversary of establishment, receives recognition as a commune meeting advanced new rural standards

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Home Affairs; Comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee; representatives of departments, offices of the City Party Committee, Vinh City People's Committee; representatives of localities, agencies and related units.

Speaking to review the tradition of Nghi An commune, comrade Chu Van Mai - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune emphasized that Nghi An is a land rich in revolutionary tradition, history and culture. During the development process, with different names and boundaries, the place name Nghi An has always been present as an important administrative unit, the original land in the history of construction and development of the old Nghi Loc district and Vinh city today.

For sustainable development, Nghi An Commune Party Committee especially attaches importance to ideological education, raising awareness not only among cadres and party members, but also must propagate and mobilize all classes of people about the goal of developing infrastructure to make roads wider and more beautiful, gradually harden production roads and asphalt traffic roads; and develop diverse industries.

Currently, the average income per capita is from 58 - 65 million VND/person/year. The whole commune has 48.5% well-off and rich households, 50.78% average households and 0.72% poor households, with no hungry households.

Promoting tradition and building the homeland, the Party Committee, the government as well as the people determined to always maintain high solidarity and unanimity in the entire Party Committee, first of all in the Party Committee and the government from the commune to the residential areas, and the mass organizations in the political system. For many years, the Party Committee and the government maintained solidarity and fulfilled their tasks well. The locality was honored to be a Heroic Unit of the Armed Forces during the resistance war against the US to save the country. Mass organizations in the political system, medical stations, police, and schools were all awarded many certificates and certificates of merit by all levels; central and local ministries and branches. The whole commune has 11/13 hamlets achieving the title of cultural hamlet unit.

At the ceremony, comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee congratulated the Party Committee and people of Nghi An commune for their many achievements in the process of construction and development, reaching advanced new rural standards.

The Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee emphasized that Vinh is a type 1 urban area in the process of expanding its urban space and developing into an economic center of the North Central region. Therefore, Nghi An commune is requested to maintain and promote the achieved results and carry out key tasks.

That is, closely following the Party's policies and resolutions to effectively implement, mobilize the strength of the entire people, and move towards building a model new rural commune. Promoting local advantages, approaching new areas, continuing to invest in infrastructure, developing the economy; ensuring the environment, social order and safety. Coordinating with other localities to carry out common development; contributing with Vinh City to successfully implement the Resolution of the City Party Congress for the 2021-2025 term.

On this occasion, the leaders of Vinh City People's Committee, authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, awarded the Certificate of Recognition of the commune meeting the advanced new rural standards for the period 2021 - 2025; awarded Certificates of Merit of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 2 collectives and 4 individuals with achievements in building and developing Nghi An commune; awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in building new rural areas.
