Suspect Dadaev states motive for killing Russian opposition leader Nemtsov
The Rosbalt website on the evening of March 8 quoted law enforcement sources as saying that Zaur Dadaev, the man convicted of murdering opposition leader and former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Nemtsov, apparently confessed that his motive for the crime stemmed from religious reasons.
According to the source, Dadaev said that in January, he learned that Nemtsov "had repeatedly allowed negative statements to be made against Muslims in Russia," and then decided to kill the opposition politician.

"Dadaev has practically confessed to committing this crime, so there will probably be no further large-scale revelations and arrests," Rosbalt's source noted.
On March 8, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow issued arrest warrants for five suspects in the murder of Mr. Nemtsov. Zaur Dadaev and Anzor Gubashev were remanded in custody until April 28. The suspects Temerlan Eskerhanov, Khamzat Bakhaev and Shagit Gubashev were remanded in custody until May 7-8.
The court said Dadaev had pleaded guilty, while the suspects, the Gubashev brothers, Bakhaev and Eskerhanov, still denied the charges./.
