Nghi Loc: Digitizing 4,000 pages of Han Nom documents

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghi Loc District People's Committee coordinated with the Management Board of Monuments and Landscapes of Nghe An province and the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Science and Technology to implement a program to digitize Han Nom documents in 30 communes and towns.

By using modern equipment to copy and scan Chinese and Nom documents, then store them using IT software. This method is used for research and scientific study, especially for restoration in case the original document is lost or damaged.

The results of the implementation in Nghi Loc district have digitized 4,000 pages of documents. Among them are 155 royal decrees, 22 genealogical books, 08 funeral orations, 57 certificates and 54 other documents. These are all documents of high historical and scientific value, including extremely rare and unique documents, many of which are torn and rotten at different levels and need urgent preservation.

Although it is only an initial result, it is extremely important in preserving and promoting Han Nom heritage in the district. At the same time, through the results of the digitization of Han Nom documents, it has proven the long history and cultural traditions of Nghi Loc homeland./.
