At 6:32 AM this morning (July 16th), Mr. Phan Van Huong (born 1960, residing in Hamlet 4, Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province) was driving a motorbike with license plate 37N1 - 0250 from Hamlet 4 onto National Highway 1A when, while crossing the level crossing at kilometer 299 + 610, he was struck by passenger train NA3 (Hanoi - Vinh route). Both Mr. Huong and his motorbike were dragged approximately 30 meters by the train. Mr. Huong died on the spot.

Immediately after the accident occurred, the NA3 train had to make an emergency stop to cooperate with authorities in carrying out the necessary procedures and handing over the bodies to the local government.
The cause of the accident was determined to be the victim's lack of observation while crossing a level crossing with adequate warning signs.
