On February 1, Nghia Dan District People's Court opened a public criminal trial of the case of "Intentionally causing injury" against Le Ngoc Cuong (born in 1983, residing in Tan Lam hamlet, Nghia Lam commune, Nghia Dan district).
According to the indictment, Le Ngoc Cuong suspected that Nguyen Hong Minh (residing in Son Lien hamlet, Nghia Son commune, Nghia Dan district) had an illicit relationship with his wife.
At around 12:30 on July 17, 2017, Le Ngoc Cuong rode his motorbike to Nguyen Hong Minh's house to talk. There, the two had a conflict, and Le Ngoc Cuong used a sharp knife to stab Minh in the face and chest.
Mr. Minh was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment and was later assessed with a disability rate of 11%.
At the trial, Le Ngoc Cuong confessed his crime. The panel sentenced Le Ngoc Cuong to 24 months in prison, suspended.
