Suspect killed wife of Gia Lai Criminal Court Chief to avoid debt?
The victim of the case was Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Diep (38 years old, residing in Chu Se town, teacher at Chu Van An Secondary School - wife of Mr. Giap Ba Du, Chief Justice of the Criminal Court of Gia Lai Province).
This morning, news from Gia Lai province police said that initially, suspect Nguyen Thanh Tung (39 years old, residing in village 6, Ia Blang commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai) has declared the motive for killing Ms. Diep.
Accordingly, suspect Tung confessed to mortgaging the red book to Ms. Diep to borrow 150 million VND from the bank.
On March 23, Ms. Diep received a phone call from Tung asking her to bring the red book to her house to complete the debt repayment procedures. Ms. Diep drove her motorbike to Tung's house as scheduled. There, Tung murdered Ms. Diep and then took her to an abandoned well about 500 meters from her house and dumped her in it.

Mr. Ha Dinh Thuy - Chairman of Ia Blang Commune People's Committee informed that on the morning of March 24, the commune police received a report of Ms. Diep's disappearance and mobilized forces to search. At 12:10, the functional forces discovered a suspicious sack at a dry well (village 6, Ia Blang Commune) so they went down to check.
When opening the sack, Mrs. Diep's body was found to have many bruises.
The police identified Tung as the main suspect. When calling Tung's phone number, Tung admitted that he was the one who killed Mrs. Diep and was hiding in the field because he was scared. At about 3:30 p.m. the same day, the Chu Se District Police persuaded Tung to surrender.

According to the leaders of Ia Blang commune, Tung has 6 children and his wife is currently pregnant with their 7th child. Tung's family situation is quite difficult. In the locality, Tung is a good person, takes care of business and has never broken the law.
The cause of the incident is being investigated by Gia Lai Provincial Police.
