Gambling suspect poured gasoline and burned his wife alive
Angry that her husband had spent all his money on gambling and fish shooting games, Ms. N. took her child back to her mother's house. La Van Tu was angry again, went to his mother-in-law's house and poured gasoline on it, leaving Ms. N. in critical condition due to severe burns.

On May 26, Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Dong - Chief of Tinh Bien District Police, An Giang, said that the District Police Investigation Agency had detained La Van Tu (37 years old, residing in Vinh My Ward, Chau Doc City) to continue investigating the act of intentionally causing injury.
According to the initial investigation, Tu and Ms. Le Thi N. (40 years old) got married in 2010 and have a 6-year-old daughter together. Ms. N. works as a waitress at a beer house and Tu is a truck driver.
However, Tu was addicted to gambling and fish shooting games, so he spent all his money on gambling and games many times. Angry at her husband for this, Ms. N. took her child and returned to her mother's house.
Hearing that his wife had left home, at around 1 p.m. on May 23, Tu angrily bought a bottle of gasoline and went to his mother-in-law's house in Xuan Phu hamlet, Tinh Bien town, An Giang to look for Ms. N.
After meeting his wife, Tu repeatedly beat her and poured gasoline on her body before setting her on fire. The fire burned fiercely, causing Ms. N. to cry out in pain.
Hearing her child's cries, N.'s mother shouted and ran to help, taking N. to the emergency room. Due to the severity of her injuries, N. was transferred to Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) for treatment.
After committing the crime, Rieng Tu took a motorbike taxi home and turned himself in to the police in the evening of the same day.
