Suspect in the murder of a couple in Nghe An committed suicide while being surrounded and arrested

(Baonghean.vn) - After 10 hours of searching, the subject who used a knife to kill and seriously stab a couple in Muong Noc commune, Que Phong district was arrested. When he saw the police, the subject used a knife to stab himself in the neck to commit suicide.

The suspect of the case is Vi Van Thang (born in 1993, residing in Co Nong village, Muong Noc commune, Que Phong district). Mr. Luong Truong Son - Head of Muong Noc commune police said: Thang is a heavy drug addict, specializing in stealing people's property. At noon on May 28, Mr. Dan and Thang went to catch pupae. Then they went to Mr. Dan's house to drink alcohol and slept there. At night, Thang woke up and killed Mrs. Lan to rob her property. When Mr. Dan discovered it, Thang stabbed him the most, causing Mr. Dan to collapse to the ground. Thinking that Mr. Dan was dead, Thang fled.

Thang was taken to Que Phong District General Hospital by the police at 8:30 a.m. on May 29, 2016, covered in blood with a deep stab wound to the neck.

Mr. Luong Truong Son said: At about 9:00 p.m. last night, May 28, 2016, after arriving at the scene where Thang committed the murder, we called the police in the communes where Thang might have been.

At about 8:00 a.m. this morning, May 29, 2016, receiving information from the people that Thang was hiding at Mr. Kinh's house (Thang called him uncle) in Phuong Tien 1 village, Tien Phong commune, the police force quickly deployed a plan to surround and arrest him.

Upon arrival, the police discovered the suspect hiding in the restroom, stabbing himself in the neck with a knife in his hand. The police rushed him to the Que Phong District General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to the serious injury, suspected of esophageal perforation, Thang was transferred to a higher level hospital around 11am.

After only 10 hours, the police found the subject.
