Suspect commits suicide after shooting at Russian school that killed 13
(Baonghean.vn) - Russia's TASS news agency reported that on the morning of September 26 (local time), an unidentified attacker opened fire at a school in Izhevsk, a city in the west of the country.

“Today, the police received information about a shooting at School 88 in Izhevsk. Police immediately arrived at the scene. Measures were taken to arrest the suspect,” the law enforcement agency told the media.
They added that information about the number of casualties was being verified, but it was likely that the death toll in the incident had reached 13, including seven children. The Russian Investigative Committee also said that the shooting also left 21 people, including 14 children, injured.
“According to preliminary information, the crime claimed the lives of 13 people, including six adults and seven children. Another 14 adults and seven children were injured,” investigators said.
Shortly after, the Udmurt Region Internal Affairs Agency also informed TASS that the body of the initiator of the shooting at school No. 88 in the city of Izhevsk had been found. “At this time, the police discovered the body of the man who initiated the shooting. According to the information received, he committed suicide,” the agency’s press service said.
Investigators said the suspect was wearing a black T-shirt with Nazi symbols and a mask that covered his face, leaving only his eyes exposed.
School No. 88 is located in the center of Izhevsk, not far from the city government building. According to the school’s social media pages, the school was founded in 1994 and currently has 982 students and 80 teachers.
