Russian lawmakers said the US leader's statement was irresponsible and out of place.
“He does not realize his responsibility to the world because his decisions can lead to a global catastrophe,” Yury Shvytkin commented.
According to him, if the conflict between Washington and Tehran worsens, it will surely deal a heavy blow to the economies of many countries, especially those that import Iranian oil.
“Of course, here we look at Donald Trump's position not as a President, but as a businessman who wants to get some dividends for himself through intimidation and creating problems,” - the Russian lawmaker concluded.
Earlier, in an interview with NBC, President Trump said that in the event of a war with the United States, Iran would face "destruction like never before." At the same time, Trump stressed that he was not trying to provoke such a development.
