Thinking about the traditions of my homeland
In early August, during a five-day working trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc, and Binh Duong provinces, provincial leaders met with the Nghe Tinh Hometown Associations and Business Associations. In each meeting, the sincere exchanges between provincial leaders and fellow Nghe Tinh compatriots left behind many valuable impressions. On behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc expressed his hope that the Nghe Tinh compatriots would continue to contribute their intellect to the socio-economic development of their respective localities, legitimately enrich themselves, and have the opportunity to invest in their homeland. He also kindly advised the compatriots to abide by the policies and guidelines of their localities, and to consider their current place of residence as their homeland, striving together with the community for progress and growth.
(Baonghean)In early August, during a five-day working trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc, and Binh Duong provinces, provincial leaders met with the Nghe Tinh Hometown Associations and Business Associations. The provincial leaders' instructions and wishes stem from the reality that many workers from Nghe An, when working in other provinces, exhibit poor discipline, significantly impacting the trust of businesses and organizations in people from Nghe An. Information gathered from businesses in the southern provinces reveals that most highly value the skills, creativity, and diligence of Nghe An workers. However, their hot temper, tendency to argue, and even aggression leading to conflict and fighting have made it difficult for many businesses to manage them in an industrial work environment.
Although only a small number of workers from Nghe An province caused these "conflicts," "a few bad apples have truly spoiled the bunch," making it difficult for many fellow workers from the same region to find jobs. Admittedly, the "discrimination" of some Southern businesses against workers from Nghe An (and the entire Thanh-Nghe-Tinh region) is not in line with current trends, but it has shown real negative consequences.
The leaders of Binh Duong province stated that regarding the issue of some businesses in the area "rejecting" workers from Nghe An, the province has met with business leaders to discuss the matter, and the situation has basically stabilized. Departments and agencies will strengthen coordination to create an equal working environment, fostering mutual development and benefit. During meetings with leaders of Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City, the leaders of Nghe An province also frankly acknowledged the problem and requested their respective localities to provide assistance and create favorable conditions for honest workers to find employment.
On the part of the Nghe An hometown associations and business associations, it is necessary to open forums and promote the education of discipline among workers. Drawing inspiration from successful young entrepreneurs, these associations should strengthen coordination in disseminating information and educating their children to comply with local policies and labor discipline within businesses, avoiding the unfortunate situation where some businesses are unwilling to hire workers from Nghe An.
Speaking with fellow countrymen from various provinces, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc affirmed the pride of the Party Committee, government, and people of the province in having many successful businesses run by people from Nghe An. According to preliminary statistics, across all provinces and cities nationwide, and among overseas Vietnamese communities, there are approximately 3 million people from Nghe An, nearly equal to the number of people living in their homeland.
That is a powerful force that contributes to highlighting the diligence and intellectual prowess of the people of Nghe An. This needs to be deeply understood by all the children of the province, whether they are working in other localities or in their hometown, for the sake of the pride in the tradition of hard work, creativity, and friendliness of the people of Uncle Ho's homeland, built up over generations.
