Nghia Dan district hands over "Houses of Love and Compassion"

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 30th, the Women's Union of Nghia Dan district held a ceremony to hand over a "House of Love" to member Tran Thi Nguyen, Bai hamlet, Nghia Lien commune.

Ms. Nguyen, a poor woman of Catholic descent, lived in a dilapidated house made of bamboo and corrugated iron that was unfortunately completely destroyed by fire. In response to this situation, the Nghia Dan District Women's Union allocated 20 million VND from its "shelter of love" fund to help her build a sturdy house.

After two months of construction, with the help of the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, the Party Committee, and the Government of Nghia Lien commune, the 50-square-meter house, worth 130 million VND, was completed, providing Ms. Tran Thi Nguyen with a stable place to live and motivating her to participate more actively in the Women's Union's movements.
