Nghia Dan: Construction of a 'shelter of love' house for poor women begins

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 14, the Women's Union of Nghia Dan district coordinated with the Women's Union of Nghia Thinh commune to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a "Warm House of Love" for Ms. Lu Thi Viet - in hamlet 4, Nghia Thinh commune.

Ms. Lu Thi Viet is a poor women's association member. Her husband died early and she has to raise 3 small children. Her health is poor and she is often sick, so she cannot afford to build a house and has had to live in an old, dilapidated house for many years. The new house has just started construction with a construction area of ​​50m2.², estimated cost 70 million VND.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, the District Women's Union supported 35 million VND from the "Warm House of Love" Fund; the Commune Women's Union; Youth Union, hamlet executive committee, relatives and women's union members supported working days and money, the rest came from family and clan. The house is expected to be completed and put into use in October 2017.
