Nghia Dan strives to speed up the progress of building a new rural district
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghia Dan district is mobilizing many resources to speed up the completion of criteria for building a new rural district. During the implementation process, the district advocates firmly implementing the criteria, actively supporting people and businesses to join hands in socio-economic development.
EFFORT FOR EACH CRITERIA
Nghia Tho and Nghia Lac communes were recognized by the People's Committee of Nghe An province as meeting new rural standards on December 26, 2023, and are the last two communes of the district to reach the finish line. Thus, by the end of 2023, Nghia Dan district has 100% of communes (22/22 communes) completing the new rural construction.
Along with that, besides Nghia Binh commune which has achieved advanced new rural status, there are 2 other communes namely Nghia Hieu and Nghia Son which are being considered by the Provincial People's Committee for recognition of advanced new rural standards. The above criteria contribute significantly to the whole Nghia Dan district to gradually complete the goal of building a new rural district.

To successfully implement the criteria for building a new rural district according to the District Party Committee Resolution for the 2020-2025 term, Nghia Dan District Party Committee has assigned specific responsibilities to all comrades in the District Party Committee Executive Committee and specialized departments at the district level to closely monitor the progress of each task. At the same time, focus on mobilizing resources to implement the district-level new rural criteria. By the end of 2023, Nghia Dan district has completed 19/36 criteria for building a new rural district.
In 2023, the average growth rate of added value in Nghia Dan district will reach 14.06%/plan 14% - 14.5%. The average added value of income is estimated at 79.76 million VND/person/year/plan 75-80 million VND. The poverty rate will be 2.88% (down 1.2% in 2023).

Through regular review of the implementation of criteria, the Steering Committee for New Rural Development of Nghia Dan district has focused on analyzing and evaluating the current situation, difficulties and adding some specific contents, tasks and solutions to remove difficulties; striving by the end of 2024, the district will basically complete the criteria for building a new rural district according to the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Through the discussion, comrade Lam Van Thang - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghia Dan district said that the district is actively completing the remaining criteria in a sustainable manner. Many criteria have almost met the requirements.
The most difficult thing now is attracting investment to have a clean water supply plant, a wastewater collection and treatment plant in rural areas and a district bus station. These areas require investors to be called upon, but they must be bid according to regulations, while very few businesses are interested in investing in mountainous and midland areas. Regarding the direction of opening up in these areas, the district can coordinate with businesses investing in Thai Hoa town to link up and expand their operations in Nghia Dan, meeting the criteria.
