Nghia Hieu (Nghia Dan): Receiving the Certificate of Recognition for Achieving New Rural Area Standards

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 19th, Nghia Hieu commune, Nghia Dan district, solemnly held a ceremony to receive the national standard certificate for New Rural Development. Attending the ceremony were Comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An province, representatives of the Provincial New Rural Development Steering Committee, along with district leaders and a large number of people from Nghia Hieu commune.

Nghia Hieu commune, located 20 km west of Nghia Dan district center, started with only 7 out of 19 criteria met. Over the past four years, with the involvement of the entire political system and through flexible, creative approaches and its own internal resources, Nghia Hieu has achieved significant results, completing all 19 criteria. Thanks to the effective mobilization and integration of various funding sources, Nghia Hieu commune has successfully implemented many new rural development criteria. The commune has mobilized a total of over 96 billion VND, of which the people contributed over 57 billion VND. The material and spiritual lives of the people have improved, and the awareness of restructuring crop and livestock production has been actively embraced by the people, leading to a continuous increase in productivity, quality, and output of agricultural products.

Poverty alleviation and gratitude policies have been implemented effectively. The movement for national unity in building a cultured life, linked with the construction of new rural areas, has been enthusiastically embraced by the people. To date, the commune's annual economic growth rate has reached over 9%; average per capita income is over 22 million VND/year; and the poverty rate in the area is only 2.06%.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Target Program Coordination Board for New Rural Development, and Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An Province - praised the achievements of Nghia Hieu commune. He urged the commune to continue building upon these achievements in new rural development to achieve high quality, comprehensive socio-economic development, and further strengthen Nghia Hieu commune.

Comrade Ho Ngoc Sy presented the certificate recognizing Nghia Hieu commune as having achieved New Rural Area standards and a cash reward.

Awards were presented to organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in building new rural areas in Nghia Hieu.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 4 individuals received commendations from the Provincial People's Committee, and 4 collectives and 4 individuals received certificates of merit from the District People's Committee for their contributions to the New Rural Development movement.
