To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2007), the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organized a delegation of officials to visit Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery to pay respects and offer incense to the outstanding sons and daughters of the homeland who are resting eternally there.

After traveling over 300 km, the Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery appeared before us, amidst the vast green of the Quang Tri mountains and forests. Upon arrival, the ceremonial procedures for visiting the graves were quickly completed. Here, 1,295 martyrs from Nghe An province rest in peace. Everyone spread out to light incense for the martyrs and the graves of their loved ones. In an instant, children met their fathers, siblings met their brothers, cousins met their sisters, nephews and nieces met their uncles – a scene of profound reverence and emotion. Before the grave of martyr Vu Duy Chinh from Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district, Mr. Vu Duy Can respectfully lit an incense stick. He recounted that his father died in 1972 when he was a child, and he only heard about his father through his mother's stories. Standing beside the grave of martyr Nguyen Thi Vy, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu choked with emotion: Her older sister sacrificed her life in 1972 while on a mission providing communication information as part of Unit 559. Thanks to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organizing this trip, she had this precious opportunity...

The leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs presented gifts to the collective of staff and employees of the Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery Management Board and expressed their emotion and gratitude to the collective of staff and employees who have tirelessly cared for the martyrs' graves day and night. Comrade Ho Tat Ai, Head of the Martyrs' Cemetery Management Board, stated: "Managing, caring for, and protecting the martyrs' graves and serving the relatives of the martyrs and visiting delegations from both domestic and international sources is the daily responsibility and work of the collective staff of the Cemetery Management Board. Currently, with the increasing number of visiting delegations and relatives of martyrs, we must continue to build the cemetery to be greener, cleaner, and more beautiful so that the families of the martyrs and visiting delegations can feel at ease and their longing for the martyrs is eased knowing that there are people caring for the martyrs with such care and affection."
