Meanwhile, all versions of the 2018 Mazda CX-5 SUV increased by 30 million VND during this period. Specifically, the CX-5 2.5 FWD version increased from 969 million VND to 999 million VND; 2.5 AWD increased by 20 million VND to 1.019 billion VND; CX-5 2.0 FWD increased from 869 million VND to 899 million VND.

Not only did Mazda increase the selling price of many models, but in the price adjustment this February, many Kia models in the Vietnamese market also increased from 4 to 20 million VND.

The highest increase in this period is the Kia Sedona model. Of which, the Kia Sedona 2.2L GAT increased by 20 million VND to 1.178 billion VND. The two Sedona 2.2L DAT and DATH versions increased by 10 million VND, with retail prices of 1.069 billion VND and 1.179 billion VND respectively.

It is worth mentioning that in the first two months of 2018, many other car companies also implemented a policy of increasing car prices.

According to the January 2018 car price list, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado TX-L SUV imported from Japan was suddenly increased by 95 million VND by Toyota Vietnam, to 2.262 billion VND.

The SUV model imported completely from Japan suddenly increased in price by 95 million VND.

Not only that, customers buying Honda CR-V 2018 must install some other decorative accessories, costing about 50 million VND, to receive the car before Lunar New Year 2018.

Thus, the 0% tax policy applied to imported cars from ASEAN countries has been in effect for more than a month. However, instead of being able to buy cheap cars at the beginning of the year after Tet, the prices of many car models, not only imported but also domestically assembled cars, have increased. It seems that the dream of cheap cars for Vietnamese people is still quite far away.
