Rebellious son killed his father and then committed suicide

At noon on June 17, people in Noi hamlet, Thuy Van commune, Viet Tri city (Phu Tho) went to the house of Dao Quang Trung (40 years old) because they heard an argument between this man and his son Dao Duc Binh (18 years old).

In front of the house, neighbors found Trung and his son unconscious in a pool of blood, with stab wounds on both their bodies, so they took them to Phu Tho General Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to severe injuries, Trung died. The 18-year-old is currently receiving treatment.

A leader of the People's Committee of Thuy Van commune said that according to initial investigation results, due to a conflict, Binh took a knife and killed Mr. Trung and then committed suicide.

Mr. Luan, a relative of the victim, said that when he heard that Mr. Trung was stabbed to death by his son, he went to the scene to help his relatives arrange the funeral for the unfortunate man.

According to witnesses and relatives, a few days ago, Binh took the family motorbike for a ride but the police temporarily impounded the vehicle. On the morning of June 17, Trung went to settle the violation to get the motorbike back and got into an argument with his son. During the fight, the 40-year-old victim was killed by the "rebellious son".

According to the commune leader, Trung has three sons, Binh has dropped out of school and is currently unemployed. Before his death, the victim worked as a construction worker.

Phu Tho Provincial Police have sent forces to stand guard at the hospital to record statements from the suspect.
