Research on Nghe An's differences for investment and development

Attending the meeting, on the side of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, there was Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Nhat Quang - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences as head of the delegation. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of a number of departments, branches, Vinh city, and Nam Dan district.

Nghe An and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences have had a cooperation agreement since 2012. Up to now, after 6 years of cooperation, the two sides have coordinated to implement many large projects and works with high scientific value and practical applications.

Typically: Building a development strategy, building the socio-economic development of Nghe An province, period 2015 - 2020 and vision 2030; Mobilizing resources of Nghe people at home and abroad to contribute to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province.

The two sides also organized large-scale seminars in many fields, thereby contributing to removing difficulties and obstacles and orienting the overall development process of the province.

However, in-depth, specialized research or the issue of development connection between Nghe An and the region has not received much attention.

At the meeting, both sides affirmed the necessity of researching a number of scientific topics to solve a number of specific problems of Nghe An, on the basis of promoting its potential, strengths, nuances and unique differences to create breakthroughs, key to making the province develop faster and stronger.

Accordingly, many ideas for research cooperation were put forward, such as developing Vinh city; developing Nghe An tourism, in which Nam Dan is the central axis; orienting the socio-economic development strategy of the Southwest region - Nghe An; researching and proposing a number of effective solutions to promote the identity and personality of Nghe An people; researching the orientation for economic and cultural development of coastal residents...

On the basis of agreeing with the discussed contents, speaking at the meeting, Vice President of the Academy of Social Sciences Bui Nhat Quang said that due to limitations in time and financial resources, the province needs to consider and identify a number of specific, practical, urgent priority topics with high potential for application in practice.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien affirmed that the topics that the province wants the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to cooperate in research are both immediate and long-term for the development of the province. Therefore, the research time is not only calculated from now until 2020 but also needs to continue after 2020; the important thing is to base on the research to propose highly feasible solutions to solve the problems that the province is facing.

Emphasizing the most difficult part, which is the resources to deploy the application of research topics into practice, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also agreed with the opinion of scientists from the Academy of Social Sciences, that in addition to the state budget, it is necessary to mobilize more resources from enterprises in the form of socialization, including promoting the creativity of Nghe An people.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences to prepare the contents for signing a cooperation program between the two sides to promote early research on topics about Nghe An in 2018.
