According to the family, the patient went to spray weed killer with an electric sprayer but did not wear a mask and sprayed against the wind. While spraying, the sprayer handle suddenly broke, the pesticide in the sprayer splashed onto his face while the nozzle was still working and sprayed directly onto the patient's face. He returned home and felt normal so he did not go to the hospital for examination. It was only when unusual symptoms appeared that the family took the patient to the hospital. The doctor examined and discovered that nThe posterior pharyngeal mucosa is red, and the mucosa of the tongue and palate has many erosions.
The patient is being treated intensively in the Emergency Resuscitation Department. The patient's health condition has stabilized.
Doctors warn people when spraying pesticides and herbicides to wear necessary protective gear such as waterproof clothing, masks, hats, gloves, boots, etc. to prevent pesticides from penetrating the body. Before spraying, check the sprayer to ensure it is safe and secure. When spraying, stand downwind and spray on a cool afternoon or early morning with little wind.
People should use agricultural pesticides listed in the list of uses of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. If pesticides accidentally get on any part of the body, wash it off immediately and go to the hospital to be examined by a doctor.
