Amazing city in the clouds

The city in the clouds appeared hazily on the horizon, confusing many onlookers.

In the video recorded by a witness, the image looks like a giant round object towering in the sky, but when the cameraman pans the lens to the right, the scene of undulating skyscrapers becomes clearer. The video was filmed in Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, China on April 21, according to Daily Star.

This is the third time the strange phenomenon has been spotted in the sky above China. In January, residents of Luoyang city also saw the shadow of a skyscraper in the clouds.

In October 2015, many people saw a city in the clouds in Foshan, Guangdong. A few days later, residents in Jiangxi Province, China witnessed a similar phenomenon.

Conspiracy theorists claim it is a secret government holographic experiment to create fake images for crowd control or to communicate with aliens.

However, weather experts explain this phenomenon as a natural optical illusion called Fata Morgana. Fata Morgana mirages can be seen on land or sea, and are distortions and inversions of distant objects such as ships, which can appear to resemble skyscrapers due to the overlapping images, when light rays are bent as they pass through air at different temperatures.
