US Secretary of State congratulates countries on Lunar New Year
On February 6, US Secretary of State John Kerry, on behalf of President Barack Obama and the American people, sent greetings to all people of all countries celebrating Lunar New Year, including Vietnam.

The US chief diplomat wished people of all countries “health, prosperity and great success in the Year of the Monkey 2016.”
“As we welcome the new year, let us reflect on the past year when strengthened ties have brought greater prosperity, helped us address common challenges, and deepened our understanding of each other’s cultures,” Mr. Kerry said.
He stressed that the US will continue to make efforts to strengthen cooperative relationships and promote mutual understanding between countries, cultures and faiths./.
