US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo landed in Pyongyang this morning on his fourth trip to North Korea. He and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un discussed for about two hours before having lunch, according toWashington Post.

"It's good to see you again," Pompeo said to Kim as they were about to enter for lunch. The two shook hands in front of the cameras. The US Secretary of State also put his hand on the North Korean leader's shoulder and smiled brightly.

"I'm very happy for this opportunity. After a good meeting, we can have a meal together again," Kim said as the two walked into the dining room. "Today is a beautiful day that promises a bright future for both countries."

The US Secretary of State said he had had a "fantastic trip" and a "very successful morning".

An official in the US Secretary of State's working group said this visit to North Korea was "more positive than the last time" but still needed more effort from both sides.

Before the meeting, Pompeo told reporters that the visit aimed to ensure the two countries clearly understood each other's efforts and goals, and expressed hope that an agreement could be reached on the time and location of the second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

His last visit to North Korea in July was fruitless, with Pyongyang later accusing the US Secretary of State of making "gangster-like" demands. Pompeo also recently expressed anger at North Korea, stressing that sanctions on the country should be maintained until Pyongyang completely gives up its nuclear weapons.
