US Secretary of State Pompeo calls Iran an “illegitimate regime”
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the Iranian government "an illegitimate regime".

"Iran's track record over the last 40 years shows that it is home to the worst violators of the UN Charter. It is a truly illegitimate regime," Pompeo said at a conference on Iran in New York.
He has again accused Iran of orchestrating terrorist attacks in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia.
The Iran conference, held at the same time as the UN General Assembly, brought together representatives of the US government and Tehran's regional rivals, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The conference was organized by the anti-Iran NGO "United Against Nuclear Iran".
