US Secretary of State: Ukraine is falling behind 100 years due to conflict
US Secretary of State Rubio said that Ukraine has been pushed back 100 years as a result of the conflict.

According to RIA Novosti on January 31, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Ukraine has fallen behind 100 years as a result of the military conflict and the country's energy system has been severely damaged.
"Ukraine is 100 years behind; their power grid has been destroyed... And how many Ukrainians have left Ukraine and are now living in other countries? They may never come back" – Secretary of State Rubio said on the Megyn Kelly Show.
Mr. Rubio reiterated his call for an end to the conflict in Ukraine and expressed the view that each side will have to sacrifice something in the negotiation process to end the conflict.
The US Secretary of State also noted that many countries unfriendly to the US have only become stronger in the past four years under previous President Joe Biden, including Russia.
"If you look around the world, in many cases our adversaries are stronger than ever and have become stronger over the last four years. Russia, of course, does not see itself as weaker than it was four years ago. They now control territory, which they did not do during President Donald Trump's first term," the US secretary of state said.
Previously, President Donald Trump had declared that the conflict in Ukraine would “never” have happened if he were in the White House instead of Joe Biden.
Mr. Trump also talked about the idea of resolving the conflict within 24 hours, if re-elected.
However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio later said that the US President could not yet carry out his plan, because it required "tremendous diplomatic effort".
