US and Iranian foreign ministers hold nuclear talks in Switzerland.

According to Reuters, US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif met for two hours in Geneva, Switzerland, on February 22nd in another round of nuclear talks to try to bridge the gap as the March 31st deadline for reaching a political agreement approaches.

The meeting also marked the first-time participation of US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz and the Director of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, who spent most of the day privately discussing the technical details related to curbing Tehran's nuclear program.

Negotiations will resume on February 23rd before Kerry returns to Washington to testify before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the State Department's 2016 budget request on February 24th.

Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif told media that the mid-level bilateral talks had "included useful discussions but no agreement was reached" and some disagreements remain.
