Russian Foreign Minister: Trump is the only leader who wants to solve the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that leader Trump is perhaps the only person in the world who understands the need to address the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti on April 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with CBS News that Moscow is ready to reach an agreement to resolve the situation in Ukraine, but there are still certain elements that need to be completed.
“The US president believes, and I think he is right, that we are on the right track. President Trump’s statement mentioned an agreement, and we are ready to reach an agreement. But there are certain points and elements that need to be refined. We are engaged in this process,” Lavrov said.
Russian Foreign Minister said that President Donald Trump is perhaps the only leader in the world who understands the need to solve the Ukrainian crisis at its roots.
On April 23, negotiations between US, European and Ukrainian delegations on resolving the conflict are scheduled to take place in London. According to the Washington Post, the US intends to propose that European countries and Ukraine recognize Crimea as Russian, and in return, Kiev's allies hope to receive security guarantees for Ukraine.
But US Secretary of State and Trump special envoy Steve Witkoff canceled the visit, and the British, French and German foreign ministers also declined to attend the meeting. As a result, the meeting took place at a lower level.
According to the Washington Post, the collapse of the negotiations was due to Washington's anger at Kiev's unwillingness to accept proposals to cede territory and wanted to discuss a complete ceasefire first, and then all other issues.
