North Korean foreign minister to visit Russia next week
North Korean Foreign Minister will visit Moscow and meet his Russian counterpart on April 10.

Moscow and Pyongyang "will discuss bilateral relations and views on international and regional issues, with particular attention to the situation on the Korean peninsula" when North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho visits Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today, according to Reuters.
In addition to Russia, Mr. Ri is also expected to visit Azerbaijan and several former Soviet republics. This is part of diplomatic activities to ease tensions in the region, after months of confrontation between the leaders of North Korea and the United States regarding Pyongyang's nuclear program.
Ri will be the highest-ranking North Korean official to visit Russia in recent years. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had planned to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow in 2015, but later declined the invitation. North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-un's father, visited Russia in 2011, just months before his death./.
