Ngoc Han brings Ao Dai to New York to perform for overseas Vietnamese
The beauty queen was happy when the two collections "Y Xuan" and "Sac Pa Then" were ordered by many audiences.
Ngoc Han received an invitation from the Vietnamese Cultural Center in New York to perform a fashion show 2 months ago. After much discussion, she decided to introduce her 2 latest collections 'Y Xuan' and 'Sac Pa Then' to overseas Vietnamese, and at the same time came up with the idea of organizing a show combined with an art exhibition and an ao dai auction. |
At the event, Ngoc Han was very happy because the ao dai designs she designed received many compliments from overseas Vietnamese and many international guests, especially for incorporating the beauty of folk culture and tradition into the collection. |
"Everyone applauded when each model walked out. Most of the models were ordinary people, including overseas Vietnamese, Vietnamese children, or some international friends who love Vietnamese culture. The show had a warm and friendly atmosphere. I was moved when the overseas Vietnamese confided that they missed their homeland and their childhood memories when looking at the collection and listening to me share about the idea of making it. Many people bought ao dai, even had me tailor-made them according to their measurements," the beauty queen said. |
Also in the program, the entire amount of money from the auction of the ao dai and paintings was donated by Ngoc Han to the Vietnamese Cultural Center in New York for charity. |
The collection 'Spring Meaning' was introduced by Ngoc Han in 'Vietnam Charm 2019'. The collection was inspired by folk songs and proverbs about Tet, for both adults and children. |
She came up with the idea for the new product line during a conversation with her mother. Her mother is a traditional, kind, responsible woman who always thinks about her family. |
"I am a person who loves children, always wanting them to grow up and understand the traditional values and culture of Vietnam. Through the drawings of artist Pham Trinh with bright colors and lovely shapes on the designs, I hope to help children understand more about history and traditional beauty," she shared. |
The collection 'Sac Pa Then' was brought by Ngoc Han to the 'Vietnam Brocade Culture Festival' in early January in Dak Nong province. This is the first collection she has used brocade in her designs. |
With 15 innovative ao dai designs, brocade pieces in red, orange, and yellow are combined with mesh fabric, creating a unique and novel look. Spring flower motifs are also embroidered on the ao dai by Ngoc Han to create an interesting highlight. |
