Star carrying millions of meteorites about to crash into Earth?
A star approaching the Solar System could bring millions of meteorites crashing into Earth.
A star called Gliese 70 is hurtling toward the Solar System and could send millions of meteors hurtling toward Earth, according to the Independent.

This information was also confirmed by scientists a long time ago. However, it is only now that they have been able to calculate the exact time of this star's visit to the blue planet.
Currently, the star Gliese 70 is hurtling through space at a speed of about 51,500 km/h, 64 light years away from the Solar System.
Gliese 70 is known to be half the size of the Sun and is predicted to visit the Solar System in 1.35 million years. At that time, this star will be 77 light days away from Earth, equivalent to about 26 billion km.
According to scientists, Gliese 710 is unlikely to collide directly with Earth. However, it will graze the Oort cloud, a cloud of gas, dust, comets and many icy objects surrounding the Solar System.
Although the distance of 77 light days is quite safe, according to calculations, Gliese 710 can still break the Oort cloud and shoot out icy objects and comets that collide with Earth.
"Gliese 710 will trigger a comet shower with an average density of about 10 comets per year, lasting 3-4 million years, and will be observable," according to scientists.
Some scientists speculate that a similar event caused a meteorite to hit Earth 65 million years ago, wiping out dinosaur life.
