In the last course, Nhat was also a good student in class and the person who discovered Nhat's abilities and qualities was his homeroom teacher. Knowing that Nhat was eager to learn and had many ambitions, the teacher encouraged Nhat to focus more on studying culture to apply for university admission. At this time, the dream of pursuing a military career that Nhat had cherished for a long time arose again. Studying persistently, in the 2020 High School Graduation Exam, Nhat scored over 25 points. The score was quite high, but Nhat decided not to go to university because he did not pass his wish to enter the Political Officer School.
Determined to retake the exam, over the past year Nhat has continued to review for the exam and has been accompanied by his family and former teachers.Hong Lam College of Economics and Technology. Near the exam date, from Hoang Mai town, Nhat asked to stay at the school to both receive extra review from teachers and conveniently attend the 2021 High School Graduation Exam.

After two days of exams, although he was not without some initial worries, Nhat had a successful exam with results much better than last year with 27.25 points. Of which, Japanese Literature scored 9 points, History scored 8.75 points and Geography scored 9.5 points. Recalling this year's exam, Nhat said he had some regrets with History because he was too nervous and made mistakes on quite easy questions. Otherwise, Nhat was very happy because with this score, he hoped that he would be able to fulfill his dream of becoming a military officer.
With 26 points, Dau Dinh Hieu is also facing many opportunities to enter university. Receiving this result from her son, Ms. Le Thi Chung - Hieu's mother could not hide her joy because for her, although her son has been studying at a vocational school for the past three years, she still believes in her son.

Three years ago, just because he was 0.1 points short, Hieu lost the chance to be admitted to Hoang Mai High School - a school that has consistently had the top entrance scores in the province for many years.
With Hieu's good academic record at that time (Hieu was an excellent student in Geography of the town), this was quite a shock. After that, although he had enough points to enter another public school, because he loved his parents and wanted to give his younger siblings a chance (Hieu had three younger siblings), Hieu decided to apply to Hong Lam Economic - Technical College to study electrical engineering.

During the days when Hieu went to school nearly 80 km away from home, his mother was also worried because he lived in a dormitory, shared a community, and had no parents to constantly remind him. But here, Hieu received the care of teachers, and the boy matured a lot.
After three years of studying at school, not only did Hieu have good academic achievements, but in the 2021 High School Graduation Exam, Hieu was the student with the highest score with 8.25 in Literature, 9.25 in History, and 8.25 in Geography. In grade 12, Hieu also won the Encouragement Prize in the Provincial Excellent Student Exam in Geography. That is also a miracle for a vocational school student.

This is also an achievement that the school has maintained for many years and instead of studying a trade as their initial choice, many students have decided to go to university to have more options in the future.
Previously, atHigh School Graduation Exam 2021, the image of 20-40 seater vehicles carrying candidates of Hong Lam College of Economics and Technology to attend the Graduation Exam at Huynh Thuc Khang High School has brought a beautiful image to this year's exam. After hours of stressful exam, teachers welcomed the students at the school gate. The care, attention, and love for the students is the motivation to give them more confidence and determination when doing the exam. And the sweet fruit of today is also the great joy of the teachers after three years of studying with, taking care of the students and considering them as children, as family members when they have to study far from home.

The trend of students learning a trade but then choosing to continue studying at university is also being encouraged by the Board of Directors of Hong Lam College of Economics and Technology. Sharing about this, Mr. Phan Xuan Dung - Principal of the school said: In our school, final year students, after receiving a vocational degree, can go out and apply for jobs in companies and factories. But there are also students with good academic performance, choosing to continue studying at university and setting high goals in the High School Graduation Exam. Therefore, the school's viewpoint is to support students to the fullest extent, ensuring all legitimate rights and helping them achieve their dreams and aspirations.

The fact that students achieved high scores in the 2021 high school graduation exam has contributed to changing the current concept of vocational school education. Talking about the school's perspective, Mr. Phan Xuan Dung said: It is easy to see that most students who register for vocational schools in general, Hong Lam Technical Economic College in particular, fail the entrance exam to public high schools. They have a low starting point in terms of cultural knowledge, if not to say "zero". Many parents, when sending their children to school, also want their children to have a vocational degree to make it easier to find a job later, rather than expecting much from studying and taking exams. These things have significantly affected the motivation to strive and the concept of studying of many vocational school students.
We always tell students that vocational training is a stepping stone and cultural education is a necessary step for their development. If they are good at vocational skills but have gaps in cultural knowledge, that will be a huge disadvantage.
In fact, with good cultural knowledge, students will be able to absorb vocational training better, have better life skills and professional skills. We encourage and inspire them to strive, both vocational training and cultural learning. I myself have talked to them many times, guiding them to study to enter universities. Going to university is not to become this or that person, but with knowledge, they will have more job opportunities for themselves.
